New lightweight phone combines dynamic memory with clamshell design at an affordable price

Samsung Electronics, the global leader in digital technology, today announced the launch of its latest, state-of-the-art, SGH-A800 mobile phone across the region. The new clamshell design phone comes with dynamic memory capable of storing 2000 phone book entries, 16-bit polyphonic downloadable ring-tones and an external LCD display that glimmers with sapphire-blue lighting, a prevalent feature in most Samsung mobile phones.
 
Launching the new mobile phone in the region, Mr. D.K. Byeon, Managing Director, Samsung Gulf Electronics (SGE) said: “The mobile phone market is flooded with new products each day, and while this is a positive sign of growing consumer demand, most of these products fall short in fulfilling the key requirements of users. Incorporating the latest, cutting-edge digital technology that Samsung is globally renowned for, the A800 mobile phone is the first phone in the region with a memory capacity of 2000 phone book entries, and also boasts a fully loaded personal organiser including 16 polyphonic ring-tones.”
 
Available in four attractive colours — champagne gold, pearl white, metallic blue and royal blue — the phone also offers users several latest generation features, such as screensavers, wallpapers, picture messaging capabilities and 40 pre-stored 16-polyphonic ring tones, apart from a choice of 3 exciting built-in games. The new phone also features voice-related functions, including a 10-minute voice memo recorder, 20 different voice control features and voice calling for up to 20 numbers.
 
“With its sleek finish, high quality design and added functionality, the SGH-A800, we believe, will be the mobile phone of choice for those seeking an easy to handle product without compromising on quality and efficiency. The phone is also equipped with a 4-way oval joystick and two soft navigation keys that make its functions a lot easier to access,” Mr. Byeon added.
 
With dimensions of 80 x 40 x 22 mm and a weight of 68 grams, other attractive features include a 7-colour LED flash in tune with the ring-tones, and a WAP-enabled micro browser for Internet access. The phone can also be synchronised with a PC using EasyGSM software.
