Signs major sponsorship agreement to support Doha 2006 Asian Games
Dubai, December 29 , 2005 - Samsung Electronics, the global digital technology innovator, has announced that the company will continue its sponsorship of the Asian Games with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Doha Asian Games Organizing Committee (DAGOC). The sponsorship agreement grants Samsung exclusive rights to offer its audio and visual, white goods and mobile phone products for service during the Doha 2006 Asian Games.

Mr. Abdulla Khalid Al Qahtani, Director General of DAGOC and Mr. Sunny Hwang, Vice President and Head of Worldwide Sports Marketing of Samsung Electronics signed an agreement designating Samsung as Prestige Partner in a ceremony in Doha today. Mr. Hussain Al-Mussallam, Director General of the OCA, also attended the signing ceremony.
Mr. Al Qahtani of DAGOC congratulated Samsung Electronics as a Prestige Partner and expressed his appreciation for Samsung's contribution to Asia's largest sporting event.
Under the agreement, Samsung will provide financial and technical support to the Doha 2006 Asian Games. In addition, Samsung's audio/visual equipment, mobile phones and home appliances will be used on site at the Games by organizers, staff, media, and volunteers. These products, along with Samsung's technical expertise, are integral for a seamless execution of the Games. Moreover, Samsung's support will help athletes, officials and fans share the exciting moments of the Asian Games.

Samsung's full commitment to the Asian Games started from 1998, participating as an official partner of the Bangkok Asian Games, and as a multi-category sponsor in the Busan Asian Games in 2002.
