Dubai, UAE - Hadeed, the largest iron and steel mill in KSA, one of major SABIC affiliates has recently awarded HP the automation infrastructure upgrade project, which involves the installation of the Network Management Solution (NMS) based on HP OpenView platform. The solution also includes an upgrade of Hadeed's legacy plant automation network to a next generation network infrastructure to meet operational, management and new application deployment challenges.

Commenting on the significance of this new deal, Joseph Hanania, Managing Director of HP Middle East said, "This is a major win for us as it reinforces HP's position as the leader in adaptive enterprise and echoes our leadership in other vertical sectors like the manufacturing, oil and gas, government and telecommunications sectors in the Middle East. The deal cements our existing relationship with SABIC as this project followed from the consultancy service we provided to assess the status of existing infrastructure and analyze the impact of technology on production facilities.

"At HP we go the extra mile in ensuring that our solutions maximize returns, mitigate risks, improve performance and increase agility," he concluded.

"HP has been our strategic business partner for quite some time now, having worked with us in a professional consultative role.  As global technology leader with strong local presence, HP has assisted Hadeed in enhancing the plant's automation infrastructure as well as building an enterprise management framework.

They have a proven track record in delivering end to end solutions to our specialized automation needs and we value that experience and local knowledge.

"Said Saleh Al Hajiri, Automation Systems Superintendent, SABIC - HADEED. "We are particularly impressed with HP OpenView Management Solutions which help us in managing our business critical systems in a proactive way.

"Throughout the course of this journey to build an Adaptive Enterprise, HADEED has influenced HP to pursue continued development to enhance its plant's automation to better manage it as a business process or service," said Abdullah Al-Mohaisen, Managing Director, HP Saudi Arabia. "Our future product introductions around compliance will be based on some of the discoveries from the project implementation with SABIC - HADEED."
