Dubai - UAE, RTA has recently participated in the Auto Mechanica Middle East Exhibition in Dubai. The Authority through this event put forward its vision of safe roads for the mechanical adjustments made to vehicles. This comes out of RTA's belief in the importance of roads safety in accordance with its vision in "Safe and Smooth Transport for all."
About the participation in this exhibition, said Mr. Mohamed Abdul Karim Neama, Director of Vehicle Licensing of the Licensing Agency that the RTA had introduced its vision at the exhibition about the safety and mechanical requirements be provided with the vehicles when implementing amendments, additions, or re-installation of spare parts on the vehicle and other works as well as discussing the laws and regulations relating to those proceedings.
"The vehicles imported to region have mechanical specifications that must be in conformity with the laws and legislations on local safety and security in the UAE, as the safety requirements for vehicles is one of the most important strategies, where there should not be amendments or additions to any vehicle, without having empowered by laws and legislations in this respect and in accordance with its vision of "Safe and Smooth Transport for all, added Neama.
He explained that the RTA dealt with all the mechanical details of vehicles including the spare parts, mechanical workshops equipment and the additions added to the vehicles, confirming that RTA delivered its vision on the safe and unsafe amendments for vehicles in addition to the legislations of these amendments and additions added to the vehicles.
Neama pointed out that the RTA is based on the Federal Traffic Law No. (21) for the year 1995, as well as the criteria of the Authority in this regard and the related safety requirements.
In this exhibition, Mr. Abdulla Rashid Al Mazmi Manager of Technical Inspection at the Vehicles Licensing Department of Licensing Agency's delivered RTA's presentation.
It is worth mentioning that the Auto Mechanica Middle East Exhibition ran through until three days at the Dubai World Trade Center and was attended by more than 966 exhibitors from 46 countries and was visited by more than 15,431 visitors from more than 114 countries including representatives of a number of industrial sectors.
