Dubai - UAE: The Licensing Agency at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has embarked on the scheme of Qualifying Driving Instructors & Examiners at the Agency in association with the consultant TUV SUD.
"The Agency has become the first in the UAE that awards professional certification to driving instructors and examiners in a step to add a professional nature to the occupation of training drivers in the emirate of Dubai in keeping with the vision of the RTA to provide Safe and Smooth Transport for All" said Mahmoud Al Marzouqi, Director of Drivers Training & Qualifying Dep't at RTA's Licensing Agency.
"The scheme is part of a 3-phase implementation program. Phase I covers all examiners at the Agency whose number is 120 examiners in addition to new examiners. Phase II covers instructors and is carried out in cooperation with the five model institutes approved at the Licensing Agency (Emirates, Al Ahli, Dubai, Galadari, and Belhasa). Phase III includes classification of instructors and opening the door for applicants to join in" commented Al Marzouqi.
"The project itself spans six phases, the first five of which represent preparation period. This involves administrative and organizational work comprising studying examiners & instructors, developing the academic syllabuses, and classifying instructors & examiners according to training and skills categories, and these five phases are run over three months. The sixth and final phase is the actual implementation program; spanning the three phases of implementing the project.
"Through this project, the Agency aims to ensure the availability of facilities for instructors & examiners and improve their driving skills and qualifications" added Al Marzouqi.
On behalf of the consultant expert TUV SUD, Odo Litz, Project Manager said: "The Emirate of Dubai will have a long-term privilege of awarding specialist certificates known as TUV SUD. This will ensure that properly qualified persons will obtain internationally accredited certificates.
