Fun web site allows women to see how they look in new hair style, colour using advanced tools
Rowenta, a quality brand associated with personal care equipment such as hair dyers, hair stylers and epilators, have launched a GCC-wide "Rowenta Style Me Up," hair styling competition on the internet. The first prize is two business class air tickets to Paris and a complimentary five-day stay at the five-star Ritz Carlton Hotel.
"Rowenta Style Me Up," competition will offer five prizes per country in addition to "a bundle" of Rowenta products from Rowenta's Personal Care Range," said Vincent Berry, Marketing Director of Groupe Seb.
"In a move to create proximity and interactivity between the user and the brand and find innovative ways to use Rowenta's personal care products, Rowena has created the "Rowenta Style Me Up," competition that is designed to create a buzz and excitement among our target audience," said Mr. Berry.
A recent Pan-Arab survey has revealed that an increasing number of women are using the internet, thus the decision to use the internet in this competition.
To enter the competition one needs to log on to www.rowenta-me.com. The competition will run through till July 15. The site will remain online after the competition period but no more prizes will be given away.
To join the competitions participants will be requested to upload their photo (with certain specifications explained on the web site) and when upload and adjustment of the photo are done the styling process begins.
The participant may choose among different hair styles that she would like to achieve and with a simple click on the product will lead to a page showing different hair styles the product can deliver. She then picks up a hair style, and a different hair color.
Once satisfied with the results the page will automatically take them to a link where the original photo is arranged side by side with the newly styled one.
Finally the user has one of three options: Save the photo on computer, send via e-mail to a friend (this friend can propose another style!) or submit to Rowenta's Competition Committee to enter the contest.
On the styling pages of each product the user can click on a button that will take them to a product sheet page that will explain more about the product.
Further, on the General product page are two in store videos: Rowenta for Elite and Brush Activ that will increase awareness on Rowenta and Elite and show product demonstration for Brush Activ a unique hot air rotating brush (a huge success in the Middle East!).
One week after the competition Rowenta distributors in various countries will select one nominee for the first prize and winners of the five prizes. Winners can claim their prize at the offices of distributors and dealers in each GCC country.
A regional committee will then choose the best styled photo among the nominees selected by distributors for the first prize.
The winner will be contacted via e-mail or contact details provided on the site.
