Lebanon, 12 April 2010 - Under the Patronage of the Minister of Information, His Excellency Dr. Tarek Mitri, Rotana, the leading hotel management company in the Middle East and North Africa, launched on April 9, 2010 its group-wide Rotana Rewards Exclusive Press Club, in Bella Vita Café at the newly opened Raouché Arjaan by Rotana hotel.
This club is Rotana's way of acknowledging and rewarding members of the Media for their support and contribution to Rotana's operations throughout the Middle East and North Africa. The guests of the event received their own uniquely branded Rotana Rewards Membership card entitling them to benefits, discounts and rewards.
Representing his Excellency the Minister of Information at the event, André Kassas said, "The media is one of the most powerful tools of communication. It is essential that we take every opportunity we have to acknowledge a journalist's importance not only when discussing political matters, but also, for their key influence on the economy and tourism of Lebanon."
The event followed the theme of "Capturing Moments." This theme highlighted the importance of the profession of journalism; for every article written or picture taken, is a moment captured that will remain a part of history. The decorations and entertainment all emphasized this theme. The tables were decorated with various publications, showcasing the work of the journalists. A newspaper was passed around and signed by all the guests including André Kassas. This newspaper was then framed and displayed on the wall of Bella Vita Café and will remain there as a memory of this momentous event.
Commenting on the event, Joseph Coubat, the Area Vice President for Rotana Lebanon, Qatar, Bahrain & Kuwait said, "After the success of launching this exclusive club in the UAE in 2005, we are very excited about it taking off in Beirut. The purpose is not only to strengthen our ties with the media, but to acknowledge their high importance and contribution to Rotana and Lebanon in general."
Photographers shot pictures of all the guests and a variety of artists were present to offer sketches, cartoons or even pop art portraits of the guests. The ambiance was soothing as an accordionist and guitarist took to playing classic tunes.
"We are very happy with the success of the event and hope that Bella Vita Café can continue to be a place that members of the press feel welcome and appreciated," concluded Coubat.
