Middle East - Renault Middle East Managing Director, Marwan Haidamous, has been named ‘Managing Director of the year’ at the 2017 Arab Wheels awards.

In the third edition of the annual awards ceremony in Dubai on the 15th November, Haidamous, was awarded the impressive accolade which was decided by a panel of automotive industry experts headed by the CEO of Trace Media International –publishing company of Arab Wheels – Mr. Toni Eid.

Marwan Haidamous started his career with Groupe Renault fourteen years ago. The French-Lebanese national, graduated from the Sciences Po Paris university with a Masters in finance. Following several CFO positions in Algeria and Europe, Haidamous managed operations in Africa before taking up the position of Managing Director for Renault in the Middle East in August 2016. In the role of Managing Director at Renault Middle East, Haidamous manages the entire Renault operation across the region spanning the GCC countries, Levant, Egypt and Iraq.

Since leading Renault in the Middle East, the French car brand posted its best first half-year global sales in the company’s history this year, with a growth of +10.4 percent. Groupe Renault’s global market share is now 4.1%, up +0.3 points on 2016. 

Haidamous and the team are also leading the electric revolution in the Middle East with the recent launch of the Renault ZOE long-range. The latest version of Renault’s pioneering 100% electric vehicle boasts a record driving range of 300 kilometers (in real driving conditions) on a single charge – double the distance of the previous generation ZOE model, and the longest range of any mass-market EV on sale today.
