Primary school set to open for Academic Year 2011-2012
Applications are now being accepted for Al Ain International School, a new Aldar Academies primary school, which will open for the upcoming academic year in September.
Catering for students between the ages for 3 and 11, Al Ain International School will bring the high standards of educational provision already delivered in Aldar Academies schools in Abu Dhabi to the "Garden City". The school will have eight classes in the first year with numbers increasing in future years to meet the generous capacity of the school.
The new school is being developed on the site of an existing government school less than a kilometre from the Hilton Hotel with renovations taking place over the summer period. When the school welcomes students in September, facilities will include more than 40 teaching classrooms, a sports hall, theatre, a full size football pitch, swimming pools, large recreation areas and computer suites. Al Ain International School will offer a broad and balanced British-based curriculum, with high academic standards through innovative teaching and effective learning.
Established in 2007, Aldar Academies was created to bring the highest educational standards to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and is currently operating three schools with three new schools including Al Ain International opening this year. The first school, The Pearl Primary School, opened in September 2007, the second school Al Yasmina opened in September 2008 and the third, Al Muna Primary opened in September 2009. A new state of the art secondary school, Al Bateen School, will open in September with a capacity for 1200 students. Also, due to popular demand, we will be opening a new primary school, Al Mushrif School, in September 2011.
In order to ensure consistency of standards, key members of staff from existing Aldar Academies have been appointed to lead at Al Ain International School. The new Principal will be Heather Mann, who was previously Head of Primary at Al Yasmina School, and the Deputy Principal will be Martin Coogan who is currently Deputy Principal at the Pearl Primary School.
