Ras Al Khaimah eGovernment delegation briefed on Dubai eGovernment's leading eTransformation experience
Dubai eGovernment Department (DeG) has hosted a delegation from Ras Al Khaimah eGovernment Authority who visited to get familiar with Dubai eGovernment's leading eTransformation experience at UAE and regional levels and its integrated methodology for providing shared services to Dubai government entities.
The delegation, which consisted of a number of directors and heads of sections, was received by a number of officials in the presence of Sumaia Bin Hammad, Director of Business Development and Communication Department, who welcomed the delegation, stressing the importance of streamlining the channels of communication with UAE government entities to exchange the best practices and knowledge that would enhance the practical steps towards an integrated knowledge-based society.
Commenting on the visit, H.E. Ahmad Bin Humaidan, Director General of Dubai eGovernment, said: "The visit of Ras Al Khaimah eGovernment Authority's delegation is aimed at getting familiar with the most outstanding stations of the successful experience of Dubai eGovernment, which established robust foundations for digital transformation in Dubai. The visit is also aimed at discussing means of mutual co-operation for developing government work across the UAE, which shows Dubai eGovernment ongoing keenness on sharing its leading experience with the various entities concerned with eTransformation locally and regionally and on employing all potential and expertise to consolidate UAE's position in the knowledge-based economy in implementation of the vision and directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai."
Beginning the presentation, Bin Hammad outlined Dubai eGovernment's vision, mission and strategy in addition to its way of implementing its leading applications in Dubai government departments and entities over the past decade. She said that Dubai eGovernment had already eased the lives of people and businesses interacting with the government and has contributed to establishing Dubai as a leading economic hub.
Shadi Diab, Acting Director of Government Resources Planning Systems (GRPS) Department, demonstrated the role of these systems used by Dubai government entities to run their human and financial resources as well as the GRPS ability to manage 40 government entities employing more than 62,000 employees, including financial management systems, human resources systems, payroll system, purchasing, inventory, enterprise project management and asset life management system in addition to eJob and eSupply.
Hessa Al Balooshi, eServices Section Manager, presented the core & channel enabling services of ePay, mPay, mDubai, eSurvey, Ask Dubai, unified eComplain and eSuggest, eHost and GeSS.
Matar Al Humairi, Director of Infrastructure Management Department, focused on the infrastructure-related shared services, explaining their added value for saving the total cost, improving the quality of services and ensuring co-operation among all the electronic systems in Dubai government. He explained the importance of the government information network (GIN), which is the cornerstone of Dubai government's electronic infrastructure and the backbone for linking government and semi government entities with a high communication speed for secure exchange of information and smooth integration at the lowest cost while ensuring reliable and safe government information. Al Humairi also clarified the role of messaging and collaboration services in supporting integration among government entities.
Later, Abdul Aziz Mohammed Amin, Manager, Strategy & Performance Management Section, clarified the methodology of assessments and DeG's mechanisms of ensuring high quality through the Government Websites Excellence Model and the eServices Delivery Excellence Model. He also explained the role of the Unified Government Services Repository (GeSS) in measuring eTransformation at each government department, enabling it to provide its services to the public in the best way possible with Dubai eGovernment's model based on its "Customer First" approach.
The delegation members praised the achievements that Dubai eGovernment was able to accomplish over the past few years, underlining the importance of the visit as an opportunity to get familiar with a leading experience for providing shared eServices with the aim of benefiting from DeG's best practices, strategies and experiences, which help achieve government interaction and push the wheel of digital transformation in the UAE forward. The delegation affirmed that the visit formed an excellent stopover for getting acquainted with Dubai eGovernment's advanced potentials and high experiences.
