Ras Al Khaimah, November 30, 2011: The Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) is marking the 40th UAE National Day Celebrations with a wide array of activities and events.
The official celebrations of the UAE National Day were held at the RAK FTZ Business Park on 30 November from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The activities lined up for the day included performances by the Military Band, a Hot Air Balloon Show, traditional food showcase, community bazaar, photo and art display, and Kids Zone students dance performance.
Apart from this, there were performances by school children, traditional songs and dances as also other competitions. Prizes for the competition winners were also given away.
RAK FTZ is also organised other activities to mark the National Day, including a Sea Art and Craft Exhibition on 29 - 30 November at Business Center 2. In related events, RAK FTZ also hosted a Maseera with traditional songs and dances at Business Park today; and formed a human formation depicting number 40 near Business Center 4.
In his comments on the various initiatives, Oussama El Omari, CEO of RAK FTZ, said: "We are proud to be playing our part in the UAE's 40th National Day celebrations. It is a momentous occasion, and we are pleased to organise various events involving people from various sections of the Free Zone to partake of the celebrations. Through these activities, we also intend to celebrate our clients who are at the heart of our all activities, by offering them traditional activities during this celebration."
He added: "The 40th UAE National Day celebrations serve as a fitting occasion to look back on the tremendous growth and prosperity that the nation has achieved across all social and economic sectors - hence our events showcased both the tradition, culture and heritage as well as other community engagement programs."
Earlier this week, RAK FTZ hosted the Community Fingerprint Painting and a visit to the Ras Al Khaimah Museum was organised. The RAK FTZ also organized the UAE Clean Up Campaign 2011 on, along with Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) to mark the occasion.
El Omari added; "We are thankful to all our clients at the free zone, RAK government and municipality officials, RAK Police and our colleagues at RAK FTZ for their help in making these activities successful. We also wish to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the leaders of the UAE and all citizens and residents on the occasion of the 40th National Day."
