Dubai, UAE - Raja Easa Al Gurg, Managing Director of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group LLC and President of the Dubai Business Women's Council, has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of HSBC Bank Middle East Limited ('HBME'). Raja Easa Al Gurg is the first ever Emirati woman to be appointed to the Board of HBME.
Since joining the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group in 1989, Raja Easa Al Gurg has become one of the leading business figures in the United Arab Emirates ('UAE'). In addition to her role at the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, Mrs. Al Gurg is the President of the Dubai Business Women's Council, the Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Dubai Healthcare City Authority and a Board member of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Dubai Women's Association. Raja Easa Al Gurg also represents the UAE at many prominent international forums, often as a member of the Government of Dubai's official delegation.

Mrs. Al Gurg's contributions to both business and society have seen her awarded a number of prestigious accolades. Most recently, she received top ranking on the Forbes Middle East list of 'The Most Influential Arab Women in Family Business' in 2013, and she was ranked fifth in the list of the '100 Most Powerful Arab Women in 2012' compiled by the CEO Middle East Magazine.
