Participates in Mother, Baby & Child show to demonstrate benefits of milk
Dubai, January 8, 2006: In an effort to boost nutrition education for parents and children alike, Rainbow Quality Milk, a brand of Royal Friesland Foods, is pushing for greater awareness of milk and milk products, in order to combat a number of medical conditions.
Participating in the recent Mother, Baby & Child Show, the brand kept kids busy, with a drawing competition while mums and dads picked up useful dietary tips from nutritionist, Caroline Kanaan.
Vikas Mittal, Marketing Director for Friesland Foods, said: "Rainbow Milk is a truly established brand in the region. With over 50 years of quality milk distribution. Although most consumers understand the benefit of drinking milk, there are many additional benefits which can be gained from making it part of a healthy balanced diet. At the end of the day, milk is something that can be enjoyed by every member of the family, and contributes greatly to overall healthy eating regime."
During her talks, Caroline Kanaan emphasised that milk is a complete food, equipped with 27 essential vitamins and minerals. She underscored the importance of encouraging children to continue to drink milk, even in to puberty, when bones are going through their biggest growth period. She also highlighted the importance of milk in boosting the immune system, particularly in children, which is important when you consider the increase in viral infections and communicable diseases.
Mittal continued: "Rainbow is committed to educating the local population on the importance of milk in the diet, it is our responsibility to provide people with as much factual information, as possible. We are planning a whole range of educational programmes during 2006, targetted at different age groups, particularly new or young mothers, small children and teenagers."
Rainbow Milk enjoys a special bond with many people across the region, as it was one of the first branded products that entered here. Annually, in UAE alone, over 400 million cups of tea are served with Rainbow milk. With consumers increasingly focussed on nutrition Rainbow has been first to introduce innovative products like cholesterol free evaporated milk and cardamom evaporated milk to its line-up, which includes evaporated milk, milk powder, drinking milk and sweetened condensed milk.
