Doha, Qatar - 13th April 2008 - In keeping with its ongoing training and development program for employees, QIB recently conducted three training seminars in Qatar for the benefit of 72 employees in collaboration with renowned international training experts.
Twenty two executive managers, branch managers and their assistants underwent training to develop modern management skills, including familiarization with the concept of six-sigma, which has found acceptance and respect in corporate boardrooms around the world. The training was conducted by Dr. Abdul Rahman Ahmed Tawfik, CEO, Professional Management Expertise Center in Cairo.
In addition, 22 Customer Service Agents received training in global standards of customer service and client interaction, with the objective of helping the QIB's various divisions maintain effective communication channels with the public and with each other. The course equipped the trainees with an array of useful skills & techniques to handle all kinds of corporate as well as individual customers.
A further 28 executives and receptionists received 'Executive Secretary & Office Management' training to build various day-to-day skills and competencies. The training, conducted in collaboration with the New Horizon Center, not only introduced participants to the latest technologies and tools of the trade, but also tackled such essential skills as time management & organization, creating effective reports & memos, dealing with clients, colleagues & superiors and routine problem-solving techniques.
"These various training programs that we have been conducting are at the very heart of QIB's Human Resources Development strategy," said Mr. Abdullatif Al Noaimi, Executive Manager Human Resources. "We're constantly striving to help our employees perform to their fullest potential and expose them to various experiences and points of view in an effort to develop their skills and increase productivity & performance." He added: "All the training programs conducted by QIB are designed to the highest global standards, that our employees may reap the greatest benefits and become even more effective and efficient in their respective roles. We are present in a highly competitive environment, and well trained employees will be a strong asset to QIB in the years and decades to come."
It is worth mentioning that in year 2007 alone, QIB conducted 25 internal training seminars and courses for the benefit of 411 employees in total. Fifty key employees even traveled overseas to attend seminars and receive training in various specialized subjects. QIB plans to extend the opportunity for continued development to even more of their workforce in 2008, and 25% more employees will receive the opportunity to attend seminars and training programs to expand their skills this year.
