Doha, Qatar - Sheikh Faisal Sports Academy “SFQ” recently announced the appointment of Mr. Islam Elrayes as General Manager. This position is aimed at enhancing the academy’s operations and generate  new line of  activities & events, besides boosting the existing ones that have been developed in order for the academy to acquire a  special strategy to help the secretion of the best talents for members in town.

Elrayes owns an impressive management experience as he worked as an internal auditor at KPMG for four years and later as Internal Audit Manager at Al Faisal Holding - one of the leading holding companies in the region with 30 plus subsidiaries in Qatar in addition to investments in Jordan, Algeria, Lebanon, UK, Germany and USA.

Elrayes is also a medals awarded athlete, and holds a 4th Dan black belt in Taekwondo. He is also a member of Qatar’s Taekwondo referees, an ex-member of Egypt’s national team, in addition of scoring a good number of medals at local and international tournaments between 1992 and 1997, and holds under his belt the universities' local and international heavyweight championship for the years 1996 and 1997, and Qatar heavy weight champion for the years 2012 and 2013.

Commenting on his new appointment, Islam Elrayis the new General Manager for SFQ sports Academy said: "I would like to thank HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani and the board of directors for their trust. With the help of the outstanding SFQ Academy team, I will help to broaden the base of sports activities in the Academy to include all ages. We will also work to develop the system assistance to the secretion of talent, with the expansion plan in Qatar to cover all areas” .

SFQ sports academy was established in 2012 with the guidance and support of Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassin A Thani, and it is committed to psush children and adults forward by offering enjoyable, useful and safe experiences for them, and provide a wide range of sports and health activities to suit the entire members of the family.
