IGTC - Chubb Fire Qatar Supplies Fire Fighters with Tailor-Made Bristol Fire Suits
Doha, Qatar - October 5th, 2008: International Gulf Trading Company (IGTC)-Chubb Fire Qatar, the global leader in fire protection, safety and security solutions, has equipped firefighters in Qatar's Civil Defence Department with new, tailor-made Bristol fire suits.
IGTC - Chubb Fire Qatar has supplied Qatar's Civil Defence Department with more than 600 Bristol Ergotech firefighting suits in 2006 and 800 this year, , which will be used by the Department's fire fighters who are located across the country.
The firefighting suits can be utilised in all types of fires and have been tailor-made by Bristol Uniforms, which is recognised as one of the United Kingdom's foremost designers and manufacturers of protective clothing for emergency services.
"IGTC - Chubb Fire Qatar is the country's exclusive supplier of Bristol Ergotech firefighting suits that are developed in collaboration with the world's leading fabric manufacturers, in order to ensure Ergotech suits use the latest in fabric technology.
"By making the suits to order, the trousers and jacket are tailored to each firefighter's size, resulting in increased comfort, movement levels and less weight, giving each firefighter an improved capacity to fight fires efficiently and effectively," said Mr Rami Batrawi, General Manager of IGTC - Chubb Fire Qatar.
The latest equipment upgrade is part of the Civil Defence Department's ongoing strategy of continued development to ensure optimum fire fighting capacity.
"Outfitting Qatar's firefighters in world-class equipment highlights the Civil Defence Department's commitment to the continued enhancement of the country's fire fighting capabilities," said Mr Batrawi.
During the project's stages, IGTC - Chubb Fire Qatar worked closely with the Civil Defence Department to ensure the suits met the requirements of Qatar's fire fighting fleet.
"Delegates from the Civil Defence Department inspected the Bristol factory in the UK in 2006, where they were able to see first hand how the suits are crafted and also witness the suit in action with a live firefighting demonstration," said Mr Batrawi.
