Fawazeer Al Qasba Riddle Competition captures the imagination of all, 10 year old wins third prize
Sharjah: Qanat Al Qasba celebrated with its visitors an unforgettable Eid this year as a finale to its Ramadaniat Al Qasba program. At the end of the month long program last night (Monday, October 15), which captured the imagination of all thanks to the wide array of activities tailored for families, the winners of the popular Fawazeer Al Qasba Riddle Competition walked away with fantastic prizes.
During a grand raffle draw conducted and by the Qanat Al Qasba Development Authority for the Fawazeer Al Qasba Riddle Competition, the lucky winner Budoor Abdul Kareem from Palestine was awarded with a Hyundai family car, while the second and third prizes of airline tickets sponsored by Etihad Airways, and a cash prize worth Dh2, 000 went to Najwa Rajab and 10 year old Mariam Abdul Kareem Kamal respectively.
Dima Malibary, supervisors of Fawazeer Al Qasba Riddle Competition congratulated the winners of the Fawazeer Al Qasba Riddle Competition. "The daily competitions the past month have been a very exciting event for the participants as well as the visitors at Ramadaniat Al Qasba. It has been a great achievement for the winners indeed as they had to use their wit to solve not just a few of the 30 riddles, but all of them to win. And the participation has been great with over 2000 hopefuls including UAE nationals as well as other nationalities pitting their wits against each other."
The English and Arabic riddles which varied in scope and style began on the first day of Ramadan and fast became an addictive competition among the many families that participated in the event.
Budoor Abdul Kareem, the winner of the competition said, "It was very exciting participating in the riddle competition, and exhilarating to win it! I would wait every evening for the questions to be announced, and some days it was quite a challenge solving them.
She added, "It is the first time I have ever won anything and it's very exciting." Abdul Kareem, who does not possess a driving license, has not decided what to do with her prize car yet.
