SteelFab to cover every segment of the metal working industry in the region

Sharjah, 12th January 2015: The upcoming steel fabrication and metal working trade fair in Sharjah is set to offer the widest spectrum of industry coverage in the region, catering to everyone who buys and works with steel.

With more than 330 manufacturers and their regional dealers representing nearly 700 brands from across the world, a series of special focus areas, special pavilions, new segments, live displays, technical seminars and product presentations, the 11th SteelFab 2015 will provide solutions to every steel requirement from any industrial segment in the region.

"Visitors can expect a full range of machinery and equipment in every special segment that is part of SteelFab 2015... so much so that you name any steel-related requirement and the show will have it. The 11th SteelFab 2015 is going to be a landmark event for the region's industrial sector," said Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO, Expo Centre Sharjah, which will host the 11th edition of the show from January 26 to 29, 2015.

Considered as the largest exhibition of its kind in the region, SteelFab 2015 will showcase machinery and equipment in metal forming, surface preparation & finishing, grinding, welding & cutting, machining & other allied engineering disciplines from across the world.

The special focus areas at SteelFab include Welding & Cutting, Material Handling, Metal Cutting, Pipe & Tube Machinery, while special pavilions are Steel-Tech, Fabricators Pavilion and Steel Showcase, apart from live display, and technical seminars & product presentations. The Fasteners Pavilion will make its debut during the upcoming edition.

"The Middle East and Africa is a high growth region for the nearly US$20 billion global welding products industry. The special section on Welding and Cutting will feature the largest display of welding & cutting equipment and machinery in the region at SteelFab," added Mr. Midfa.

Visitors can see premier brands such as Miller, Lincoln Electric, Esab, Fronius, Kemppi, Lorch, Jackle & several others at the Welding & Cutting section.

The Materials Handling section will offer customized solutions for steel handling including conveying systems, lifting magnets, vacuum lifting, positioners, overhead cranes and fork-lifts.

The projected US$18 billion investment in the GCC tubes and pipes industry will drive trade traffic to the Pipe & Tube Machinery section, which will showcase machinery and tools used in bending and cutting pipes & tubes.

The Machine Tools section will be aiming to tap into the demand generated by the nearly 20 per cent rise in industrial investments, the value of which stood at US$369 billion in 2013, by GCC countries in order to boost their economic diversification programmes.

SteelFab 2015 will have a new segment this year - the Fasteners Pavilion. The new pavilion will aim to tap into the rising demand from construction, oil & gas, electrical & electronic, fabrication and aerospace sectors, among others. "Fastener is an important constituent of Steel Fabrication and the fasteners pavilion at SteelFab will highlight the range & different applications of fasteners for the sheet metal & structural fabrication industries" said Mr. Midfa.

SteelFab 2015 has strong support and participation from its foreign partners. The German Pavilion, held under the aegis of VDMA (German Engineering Federation), will present 22 companies showing cutting-edge German technology. Last year, the German Pavilion had 11 companies.

UCIMU - Sistemi Per Produrre -- the Association of Italian Manufacturers of Machine Tools, Robots, Automation Systems and Ancillary Products -- will facilitate the participation of more than 30 Italian exhibitors, while the Taiwan Pavilion will have 16 exhibitors, as against last year's nine. Exhibitors from Turkey, India and China too will have impressive presence at the show.

"Foreign participation has always been a strong point of SteelFab. The rise in global attention on the region, and particularly the UAE, has resulted in the number of foreign participants going up with every passing year, thus helping us to present the best and latest technology from the world to the region's fabricators at one place," said Mr. Naveen Fernandes, Assistant Group Exhibition Manager, Expo Centre Sharjah.

SteelFab 2015 will also host an extensive line-up of technical seminars, taking up key topics such as software applications, automation, dual cutting technology etc., while product presentations will help visitors get the a closer look at new technology and products.

The SteelFab 2015 exhibition will be held at Expo Centre Sharjah in United Arab Emirates from 26 to 29 January 2015 with the exhibition timings as 10 am to 7 pm daily. Admission is Free and strictly restricted to Trade and Professional visitors only.
