"Successful projects deliver very good results and are finished in time"
MUSCAT: The management of projects has a significant influence on the success of a company. To stress the importance of time-saving and cost-effective project management, the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) offers a two-day course for professionals and executives in Project Management on 18 and 19 September. The course will be held at the GUtech Airport Campus in Al Athaiba; the language of instruction is English.
"Key elements of a successful project management are human resources, the clear definition of the project, the tracking and follow-up according to the project plan and the management," said Engineer Sebastian Schmitt, Assistant Professor at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering WZL of RWTH Aachen University. While adding: "Successful projects deliver not only very good results but are accomplished in time." Schmitt will conduct the seminar together with his colleague, Eng. Carsten Wagels. The course will provide basic information for professionals and executives from services, production, quality management and planning as well as improvement process leaders who initiate, steer, control and manage projects. The number of participants will be limited to 15.
"During the course we will give an overview about saving costs and time without compromising on the quality and the performance of the project," said Eng. Schmitt. During the seminar management tools like stakeholder analysis or the RSACI-Matrix will be demonstrated and explained how to staff them according to the size of the project. A so-called Six Panel Sheet will be used to control the project in an easier way. The project conclusion and an efficient knowledge management are the final steps during the seminar course.
Schmitt and Wagels are both experienced management trainers. In the past they have successfully trained employees from different sectors such as machine tool, automotive and packaging machines. For many years they have been working as consultants for several industry sectors in Germany and abroad and as research assistants at RWTH Aachen University, where they currently focus on research in customer satisfaction & operations management, complaint management, computer aid in quality management and other management systems. As Six Sigma Black Belt trainers they are both experienced in quality management and process improvement methodologies.
At the end of the two days Project Management Course each participant will receive a certificate of attendance. The number of participants is limited, thus anyone who is interested should register as soon as possible. For bookings, four weeks prior to the course date, participants receive an early bird discount of 5 %. The last day of registration is two weeks prior to each course.
