P&G recognized for its efforts to integrate both inbound and outbound supply chain networks and streamline material handling processes across the GCC

Dubai, UAE, 8 May 2013

Procter & Gamble (P&G) Arabian Peninsula has been awarded the Excellence in Supply Chain Collaboration for 2012 by CHEP, the world's leading pallet and container pooling services company. The award, which was presented to P&G's Supply Network Operations Associate Director for the Arabian Peninsula & Pakistan and the Near East Hayat Chaoui, is recognition for the company's success in integrating both its inbound raw materials channel as well as its outbound product distribution.

"P&G believes in constant innovation across the business, and the efficiency and development of our supply chain operations is essential to maintaining growth, especially in the Arabian Peninsula," said Chaoui. "Our production facilities in the region are sizable, and P&G's Supply Network Operations is essential to ensuring that materials and products are delivered to the right place at the right time."

CHEP also recognized P&G for the company's efforts to further collaboration with distribution partners, suppliers, and customers across the whole scope of its supply chain to streamline material handling processes across all supply chain drop points within the GCC. Procter & Gamble had zero equipment losses in 2012 following the extensive implementation of supply chain controls across the company's plant and distribution network.

P&G also received a CHEP award in 2011 for Supply Chain Excellence, and CHEP's Middle East managing director Kevin Smyth believes that P&G's insistence on continuous supply chain innovation will stand it in good stead for future growth.

"An effective supply chain operation can significantly impact both the revenues and the margins of any business. We don't see enough companies innovating and developing their supply chains to deliver better efficiencies and lower costs. P&G has constantly proved year-on-year that there's more that can be done to raise the bar and transform how materials and products are shipped to plants and from there to the customer and finally the consumer. P&G are a leader in the supply chain field in the Arabian Peninsula and we're delighted to be able to present them with this award."
