Centralised backup solution to facilitate faster data back up, archiving and restore functions
PRO TECHnology, a leading provider of storage, broadcast, and communication solutions announced that it has installed a centralised backup solution using VERITAS NETBACKUP Licenses from Symantec, Storageflex Storage system and HP Tape Library for the Ajman eGovernment to facilitate faster data back up, archiving of email box and files, and speedy restore process in case of disasters. To ensure the success of the installation, PRO TECHnology has also provided Ajman eGovernment with a certified consultant to conduct comprehensive on-site training on how to use the system. The centralised backup solution was recently awarded to PRO TECHnology and was completed within few weeks.
"We have successfully installed the centralized backup solution, which includes one clustered backup servers and holds the main catalog and accessing HP Tape Library connected to it, along with two StorageFlex Fi240 intelligent Storage box," said Eyad Shanableh, Business Consultant, PRO TECHnology. "These servers will maintain the policy and schedule information to trigger backup jobs. Being clustered, the master server will provide high availability feature in case one server goes down, with the pair node continuing to serve transparently. The reason for adding storage into the backup infrastructure is to keep duplicate redundant backup copies using the NetBackup Inline tape copy feature, which will enable the administrator to initiate restoration from disk and vice versa if anything goes wrong with the tape media."
