HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation* that is vice chaired by his spouse HH Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel received in his office HE Mr. B. J. Habibie Former President of the Republic of Indonesia and an accompanying delegation. The meeting was also attended by Princess Ameerah, Ms. Heba Fatani, Senior Executive Manager, Corporate Communications Department, Dr. Nahla Alanbar Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman and Ms. Intisar AlYamani, Executive Manager, Corporate Communications Department.

The meeting began as the former President thanked Prince Alwaleed for giving him the opportunity to meet him. During the meeting the two discussed economic, social and philanthropic issues. Furthermore, Prince Alwaleed discussed the role of Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundations humanitarian and philanthropic work and the Foundation's social support. Moreover, the Prince said that his support to Indonesia is continuous. In conclusion to the meeting the Former President presented HRH with a commemorative gift and a copy of his biography.

In 2010, Prince Alwaleed received in his office HE Dr. Salim Segaf Al-Jufrie Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. During the meeting, the Minister explained to HRH the social and economic situation in his country, referring to the homeless children who have reached 230,000 children. In addition to the 2 million elders, people with special needs and the disabled who are in need of support.

In 2009, Alwaleed Foundation made a donation for the earthquake victims of Indonesia to help reconstruct 3 orphanages which were damaged by the disaster according to earthquake-resistant standards. The donation was made in coordination with the Indonesian government and implemented by Mother Helpage UK. The Prince announced his readiness to donate to Indonesia through the Foundation during a meeting with Deputy Chief of Mission. During the meeting, the Prince also conveyed his condolences to the government and people of Indonesia. A 7.6-magnitude earthquake hit the Indonesian city of Padang on Sumatra Island in the Indian Ocean. Tens of thousands are estimated to have lost their homes.

In 2008, Prince Alwaleed was awarded an honorary doctorate in Management Science by the University of Brawijaya, Indonesia during a conferment ceremony held in Riyadh. The award was in recognition of his efforts on many fronts including his investments through Kingdom Holding Company that is chaired by HRH locally, regionally and internationally as a respected, distinguished international investor and entrepreneur, and HRH's educational contributions on a global scale.

In 2007, HRH visited Indonesia and was warmly welcomed by the people and government of Indonesia and met with President Yudhoyono. The President expressed his deepest appreciation on behalf of Indonesia's government and people for Prince Alwaleed's $19 Million donation to support the victims of the tsunami disaster.

HRH's investment in Indonesia through Kingdom Holding in the financial sector is through Citigroup. Moreover, investments in hotels through Kingdom Holding include Four Seasons Jakarta, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay, Raffles Hotel Bali at Jimbaran and Raffles Jakarta that is under development.

HRH's philanthropic grants and donations over 65 countries ranging from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe; from Gaza to The Gambia, totaling more than $2.4 billion over the last 30 years. Prince Alwaleed has established three Foundations to handle his philanthropic activities across the globe under the slogan "Commitment Without Boundaries": Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation in Saudi Arabia, Alwaleed Bin Talal Humanitarian Foundation in Lebanon, and Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation-Global registered in Lebanon. His foundations work locally, regionally and internationally to combat poverty, strengthen interfaith and intercultural dialogue and empower women and youth.
