Manama, 16 November 2008 - Porsche Centre Bahrain (Behbehani Bros w.l.l) participated in the Porsche Carrera Cup Challenge Asia 2008 that was held for the first time in the Bahrain International Circuit from the 6th to 8th of November 2008 by sponsoring Class-A lead driver Christian Jones.

Christian Jones, who came into the season's final two races at the Bahrain International Circuit with the championship lead, finished fifth overall and was also announced the new leader of the Driver Classification with 161 points. Jones, son of 1980 Formula 1 World Championship winner Alan Jones snatched the top spot on the leader board after finishing second in Round 10 in Shanghai last month.

The eyes of motor sport fans around the world were focused on Bahrain as the country staged its first Porsche Carrera Cup Challenge Asia, and we at Porsche Center Bahrain are proud to contribute to what can be termed as both an enormously successful event, and one which will put the spotlight firmly on our dynamic country," said Firas Barbir, Business Development Manager of Porsche Centre Bahrain.

The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia was established in 2003, and immediately set new standards in both competition quality and organisational excellence, attracting racers from not only Asia, but also from Europe and Australia. The Bahrain season-closer marked the series' first foray to the Middle East, as it continues to spread its wings across Asia.

"Our involvement with motor racing will provide us with a definite advantage when it comes to the designing and management of various sporting events in the future," continued Mr. Barbir.

The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia regularly supports Asian rounds of the Formula One World Championship, but for the first time also featured a V8 Supercars event that attracted fans from all-over the GCC and Asia.

One of the most iconic names in sports car motoring, Porsche is synonymous with well-built, highly-engineered sports cars which provide the ultimate performance on the road.
