Panasonic, the leading global manufacturer of consumer electronics and home appliances, will unveil its large display system "LED Astrovision", a dynamic new information display system at GITEX Dubai 2004. Being held at Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC) from October 3 to 7, 2004, GITEX Dubai 2004 is the largest IT exhibition in the Middle East region.
LED Astrovision can be used to display advertising and public service messages. It provides clear images without mottled or coarse colors through its new pixel arrangements and new dot operation control technology. A common feature in major metros such as New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Astrovision's dynamic pictures quality through LED (light emitting diodes) ensures immediate attention and recall.
"LED Astrovision is a contemporary multi-media information tool that will revolutionize the way advertising and information delivery is looked at in the Middle East," said Asahiko Ono, Deputy General Manager, System Solutions Department, Panasonic Marketing Middle East FZE, Dubai. "It is an effective and attention-grabbing communication medium to promote business and community messages as well as convey pertinent traffic and consumer information."
LED Astrovision screens have been installed in prime places such as the Time Square in New York, theme parks in Hollywood, Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport and leading sports stadiums across the world. The screens have been also used during the Olympic Games from 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games to provide spectators with close-up views of the event and have currently been installed in the Olympic stadiums and other venues in Athens, Greece.
LED Astrovision's applications extend from advertising corporate messages to displaying public service messages by hospitals, airlines, education institutes and governmental agencies.
As part of the LED technology that has been introduced to the world, the company is also bringing in the revolutionary ASTRO-WALL, a large screen video information system that can be constructed on the inner side of common glass sections on building walls or windows without affecting the view from the inside.
ASTRO-WALL makes it possible to present advertising and other messages without affecting the view from the inside where a louver structure display module is attached to the inside of the glass wall and a large-screen display is constructed, maintaining the view from the inside and from the outside actualizing a large screen video display. In addition to the high luminance (5,000 cd/m2) with 10 bit processing (1,024 steps gradation) which realizes a spectrum of approximately one billion (Br. 1,000m.) colors, ASTRO-WALL is capable of presenting and transmitting crystal clear displays even in broad daylight.
The ASTRO-WALL is available in a 3-screen configuration, which allows it to display a variety of images and graphics. It has a full screen size of 35.5 meter in width, 7 meter in height and per screen area of 248.5 square meters.
