Oracle Ranked Leading Supplier of Customer and Product Data Hubs
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., 13-MAR-2007 10:55 AM ARC Advisory Group, a leading independent research firm in manufacturing and supply chain management, has named Oracle the leading supplier in the worldwide master data management (MDM) market. In ARC Advisory Group's recently published report entitled, "Master Data Management Worldwide Outlook Market Analysis and Forecast Through 2011," Oracle is the clear MDM industry leader with year-over-year growth of close to 40 percent.1 IBM placed at a distant second compared to Oracle.
"Oracle MDM is a core "Fusion" technology that will enable them to integrate their diverse portfolio of acquired solutions (PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Siebel, etc.) and allow them to work together much more effectively," said Steve Banker, ARC's Service Director and author of the MDM report. "MDM is also a key component of Oracle's middleware strategy to aggressively target heterogeneous environments - solutions running on different databases, operating systems, and using different data warehouse or analytical solutions. Oracle is a leading provider of ERP and CRM applications, but more broadly they are a provider of core platform solutions that help pull together and harmonize all a company's IT assets."
According to ARC Advisory Group, Master Data Management solutions provide the ability to consolidate and federate master information from disparate systems and lines of business into one central data repository or "hub." As part of its Master Data Management strategy, Oracle offers solutions that enable customers to synchronize critical information in a single, central location to achieve an accurate, 360-degree view of data, whether from packaged, legacy or custom applications. Oracle offers the following solutions:
* Oracle(r) Product Information Management Data Hub - Enables companies to centralize, manage and synchronize all product information with heterogeneous systems and trading partners.
* Oracle Customer Hub - Centralizes, de-duplicates and enriches customer data, continuously synchronizing with other data sources across the enterprise, to provide a single, accurate, authoritative source of customer information throughout the enterprise.
* Oracle Financial Consolidation Hub - Allows companies to control the financial consolidation process by integrating and automating data synchronization, currency translation, inter-company eliminations, acquisitions and disposals.
"Clean, consolidated and accurate master data distributed throughout the enterprise can save companies millions of dollars annually. With Oracle, organizations are equipped to leverage the best data management practices available today to help dramatically increase operating efficiencies, improve customer loyalty and ensure corporate governance," said Oracle Vice President Master Data Management Product Strategy Pascal Laik. "Oracle's leadership across geographical domains as well as industry segments such as Financial Services, Public Sector and Telecommunications is further validated by our position in ARC Advisory Group's MDM Worldwide report."
For the purpose of the study, ARC Advisory Group gathered data based on MDM solutions specifically focused on Product master data and Customer master data. The firm defined market size in terms of product, implementation, and maintenance revenues of industry participants. A combination of factors, including user projections of future demand and ARC Advisory Group's assessment of the growth potential for each segment, form the basis of ARC market size and forecasts estimates. Revenues are categorizes by software, services, maintenance, and other services.
