• Customers can enjoy a fully contactless shopping journey using Scan&Go

Cairo: Carrefour, owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim in Egypt, has launched Scan&Go Mobile, a feature allowing customers to use their smartphones to scan and bag purchases on their own.

Using the MAF Carrefour mobile app, customers can scan the barcode of each product as they shop, before making their way to a dedicated Scan&Go checkout area to process their payment — via a debit or credit card — within minutes. Customers using Scan&Go Mobile can benefit from a truly contactless shopping journey while avoiding long queues.

Jean Luc Graziato, Country Manager of Carrefour Egypt at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said “We understand that today, more so than ever, customers place a premium on innovation, convenience and quality customer service. Scan&Go Mobile allows us to give customers more independence and control. By enabling an experience that limits contact with other people and touchpoints, shoppers can now enjoy an easier shopping experience while having peace of mind.”

The introduction of the Scan&Go Mobile service in Egypt follows the launch of Carrefour’s Scan&Go personalised scanners that are now available at stores including Maadi City Center, Carrefour Cairo Festival City Mall, Madinaty and Shorouk, with plans to launch in additional stores before the end of the year.

To make use of Scan&Go Mobile, users can download the MAF Carrefour App on iOS or Android and register to join SHARE — Majid Al Futtaim’s lifestyle rewards programme. Customers can then easily use the Scan&Go feature on the app to scan items in-store as they shop. To checkout and pay, customers can proceed to a designated Scan&Go checkout counter, scan their QR code and then make a contactless payment.
