Sharjah: As part of Sharjah World Book Capital 2019 celebrations to promote people’s love for books and reading, Knowledge without Borders (KwB) has relaunched its ‘Mobile Library’ initiative in the UAE, in a brand new avatar.
A bus adapted to an attractive library and fitted with shelves to hold titles in various languages covering a variety of topics catering to all age groups has begun its journey on the streets of Sharjah suburbs and will continue across the UAE. The mobile library is adorned with the logo of UNESCO’s prestigious title bestowed on the emirate, and decorated in three distinctive colours and unique designs inspired by titles stocked in the library. The SWBC 2019 theme, ‘Open Books… Open Minds’ is also inscribed on it.
To maximise its reach, this mobile library will travel to all emirates, visit government bodies, public and private hospitals, health centres, schools as well as centres for differently abled people. It will also be featured at upcoming cultural activities and events, reading sessions, literary workshops, and more.
