The BMW M6 Convertible is not lacking in motor sport DNA, as the first-class suspension combined with the 7 speed Sequential M Gearbox (SMG) complete with Drivelogic, means this supreme power unit transforms the large convertible from BMW M into an open sports car able to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds, while the vehicle's top speed goes to 250km/h, where is it limited electronically.
Being a BMW 'M', power comes naturally to the new M6 Convertible as it boasts a 373KW/507hp V10 power unit, which revs all the way up to 8, 250 rpm reaching engine speeds otherwise only found in a purebred racing car. A perfect match to this power is the sleek, unique design of the BMW M6 Convertible, which has the innovative look and unique qualities of the fin roof design, which gives the Convertible the same dynamic contours as the Coup.
Safety features are central to all BMW sports cars and the BMW M6 Convertible is no exception, as the car's entire front end structure is designed to give occupant's optimum safety by combining high- and ultra-high-strength steel, aluminium and thermoplastics. The high-performance brake system also ensures safety as it features cross-drilled, weight-optimised compound brake discs, which on the road means a stopping distance of just under 36 metres from 100km/h.
