Ross Cormack joins regional telecom leaders at leading annual communications event
Muscat, 12 December 2011 - Nawras Chief Executive Officer, Ross Cormack, was recently invited to join the key panel at this year's Middle East Telco Summit in Dubai. Nawras, a Qtel Group company, is a regular participant at the annual event where regional telecom leaders discuss the hot topics facing the industry today.
Cormack joined other panel members to discuss how the operator business model is transforming in the new era of web based social networking and new media communication. The panel explored the value of establishing partnerships with these new players and looked at ways to encourage investment from new players.
"Once again, the Middle East Telco Summit was enlightening and inspirational," Cormack said afterwards. "It always provides a great networking opportunity and a chance to discuss best practises around the region and beyond. We are constantly looking for new and better ways to delight our customers and such events provide the opportunities to explore new services and different operations."
Moderated by Mark Newman, CRO, Informa Telecoms and Media, other operators on the panel included Osman Sultan, CEO of du, Andrew Hanna, CCO of VIVA Bahrain and Medhat Amer, CIO Mobily, The panel also included Mohammad Gawdat from Google, Jigar Budhdev of Nimbuzz, Yahoo's Ahmed Nassef and Ayman Irshaid from Areeba Areeba.
The Middle East Telco World Summit is the longest established and largest annual Middle Eastern telecoms event. Having evolved to reflect current market dynamics, in its 16th year the event embraced the entire telecommunications landscape in both its multi-streamed congress and accompanying exhibition.
