Kuwait City: With plans of improving its service to its airline customers in Kuwait and eventually across the region, the Middle East's fastest growing airline ground handling company National Aviation Services (NAS) recently signed an agreement with Proveo GmbH at the Inter Airport Show in Munich, Germany, to provide equipment tracking and visualization systems for its wide range of ramp equipment and vehicles.
Proveo GmbH is a fast growing German company that develops hardware and software solutions for airport ground handlers, airport operators and in-flight catering companies. Its solutions provide equipment localization tracking, safety and security as well as asset management services.
"As a growing company we need to optimize our equipment utilization as this helps us in offering a better service to our customers" says Naser Fahad Al-Obaid, Head of engineering services at NAS. "Once installed on any piece of equipment, the system will enable us to monitor the unit's location around the tarmac, its condition, faults if any and operating status among other things" commented Al-Obaid.
"In the long run, this system will also unite various ground support functions to increase workflow and reduce overheads while operating ramp equipment while also increasing the lifespan of our equipment.. More importantly the system will make sure that our equipment and vehicles get to the place they are needed when they are needed for more efficient asset management and enhancing quality of service" he added.
"The first installation of the tracking devices will be on our Ground Power Units in January of 2008 and this will serve as a test for the implementation of the system to all other NAS equipment on the Ramp. We anticipate that through the Proveo system, we will be able to improve our operations on the ramp and further enhance our resources to better serve our customers." concluded Al-Obaid.
