DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Michigan State University (MSU) Dubai has announced the appointment of Mr. Matthew Flaherty as Assistant Director of Admissions, with responsibility for directing student recruitment and admissions at the MSU campus at Dubai International Academic City.
Responsibility for MSU Dubai student recruitment and admissions includes all aspects of recruitment and admissions on the ground for MSU in Dubai. Matthew Flaherty will report to the Director of Admissions for MSU, Jim Cotter, through the office of the Executive Director for MSU Dubai, Dr Brendan Mullan.

He brings to MSU Dubai deep and broad experience in university higher education enrolment management, admissions, marketing, sales, student recruitment, international credential evaluation, and advising. We are very proud to welcome him as the newest member of the team at MSU Dubai."
Matthew Flaherty joins MSU Dubai from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise Flight Academy, where he spent the last two years as the Head of Marketing and Admissions, responsible for managing all phases of the marketing, student recruitment and enrolment functions, as well as leading outreach programmes in the GCC and Middle East. Prior to this, he was the Director of International Recruitment at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the United States where he managed a comprehensive international student focused recruitment initiative for over 40 unique undergraduate and graduate aviation oriented programs. Matthew Flaherty will take up his new post with MSU Dubai from April 19, 2009.
MSU faculty and administrators consulted extensively with Dubai's corporate and government leaders to identify relevant academic offerings. Degree options at MSU in Dubai include media, communications, public relations, computer engineering, construction management, family studies and business-related programs. MSU has full academic authority and quality control over courses and programs, and MSU's regular course, program, degree, admissions and accreditation requirements are maintained. Diplomas are standard MSU diplomas.
