More than 1500 students completed a 7-week free 'Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) - An Introduction to Project Management' which was run recently at HCT-Dubai, Women's Campus.

Students from over 100 countries enrolled in this program with UAE, USA, India, Saudi Arabia and Canada topping the list respectively.

The online course, which is the first of its kind in HCT, aimed at a large audience via open web access. Highly rated universities such as Stanford and Princeton offer several courses in MOOC collaborating with web based platforms such as Coursera, Udacity and edX.

The program was designed and delivered by Mr. Tamilselvan Mahalingam, a Business Faculty member at HCT-Dubai using CourseSites.com which runs on Blackboard Learn 9.1 learning management system platform. The course is designed with 5 key learning elements; Learning outcomes, multi-media presenter input, discussion boards, quizzes and other interactive course materials.

The course is recognized and approved by the Project Management Institute, USA for 25 Professional Development Units (PDUs) towards Project Management Professional re-certification requirements.

MOOC course will remain open until June 2017 and is an excellent resource to gain strong knowledge in the Project Management Body of Knowledge Guide - Fifth Edition, published by the Project Management Institute, USA which is considered as the industry standard for project management.
