Monkey Island Hotel - Berkshire, UK

The Monkey Island Hotel has the fine distinction of being the oldest hotel in the group. Built in 1738, the hotel was a country retreat for the Duke of Marlborough, and is today 260 years old.

The rather unusual name of the property stems from old English history when the island boasted a monastery and was known as 'Monks Eyot' or 'Monks' Island.' This has, over time, developed into 'Monkey Island.'

New and Upcoming Projects The Palm Project

Al Habtoor Group is proceeding with a 47,468 sq. m boutique resort project on the man-made Palm Island on the Arabian Sea bordering Dubai. A complete tropical island themed boutique resort, the new project resembles the ambience of Thai and Balinese islands. With low thatched building and bungalows, the boutique resort aims to capture the vibrance of the tropical island resorts.
