On the 4th November 2007, the Metropolitan Palace Hotel on Al Maktoum Street in Deira will be celebrating a decade of hospitality.
This beautiful boutique hotel was officially opened by HH General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum the Crown Prince of Dubai and Defense Minister of the UAE in a glittering ceremony just 10 years ago.
The hotel has seen its flow of stars from Hollywood and Bollywood like Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Amitabh Bachchan and Patrick Swayze who have all enjoyed the exceptional facilities and service standards the property has to offer. Wesley Snipes, even went as far as to call it "my home away from home" in the hotel's VIP Golden Book.
Today, the hotel reflects an ambience and warmth of a true elegant 5-star boutique hotel. The famous marble staircase (pictured above), is still being used as a backdrop for many TV and video programs and welcomes all guests into the grand lobby reception area as you enter the hotel. Being close to the heart of Dubai's business district as well as the Gold & Spice Souqs, Dubai Creek, major shopping malls and fur emporiums, the hotel caters to both leisure & business travelers.
The new General Manager, Manu Madan has recently announced the new projects that have been happening in and around the hotel including the recently refurbished business centre, conference rooms and facilities. Sketch Bar & Grill has a new band starting this week 'Sensation", who will be livening up the atmosphere with a variety of music for all; Tahiti Restaurant has a live Polynesian Band and has recently refurbished all its facilities, besides there are tempting sushi, grills & much more are there to tempt your taste buds; Al Diwan Restaurant has a new Belly Dancer & Singer every month and is a must for those who wish to enjoy tasty Mezze and traditional Arabic cuisine. New Year and Christmas season will play host to numerous activities around the property with Carol Singers, Santa Claus and much more.
