Salesmen enjoy comparison testing
Over 30 salesmen from Mercedes-Benz general distributors across the Middle East have completed a comparison between DaimlerChrysler’s new Viano and Vito vans and their close competitors declaring them class leaders.
In driving test and standing comparisons at Emirates karting Centre, Dubai, the salesmen said the Viano and Vito covered a far broader range of applications compared to their predecessors with three vehicle lengths (4,748 mm to 5,223 mm) available and two different wheelbases (3,200 mm and 3,400 mm). The Viano comes with four petrol and diesel engine model options while the new Vito has five.
The engine models on offer include either two or three CDI diesel engines, with outputs rangeing from 88 hp to 150 hp, and two six-cylinder petrol power plants generating 190 and 218 hp. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmissions.
“The interior specification of the two new vehicles is as refreshingly new as the exterior,” said Roland Schneider, Sales and Marketing Director, Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles, Middle East. “Whereas the interior design of the Mercedes-Benz Vito is geared more towards the practical requirements of commercial applications, motorists searching for a little luxury will find exactly what they are looking for in the Viano.”
The Mercedes-Benz Viano comes in four design and equipment lines - TREND, FUN, AMBIENTE and Marco Polo – which are specifically geared towards family, recreational or professional use. The Vito model series is available as either a Panel Van for transporting goods and materials, or as a Crewbus for commercial passenger transport or mixed applications.
