Delegates tour Aquarium, Heritage Area and Museums
Sharjah, 4 February 2009: Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) has organized a tour on Sharjah's tourist, cultural and heritage attractions for participants in the 7th UAE International Conference on Anaesthesia, Critical Care & Pain Medicine, which is taking place in Sharjah under the patronage of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, by Emirates Medical Association in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Health and Sharjah Medical District.
This visit of the delegation to the emirate of Sharjah is the latest fruit of the effective efforts exerted by the SCTDA to promote the emirate's tourist attractions with some particular focus on enhancing Sharjah's share in Convention-and-Exhibition-Tourism through cooperation with government's departments and private sector organizations aimed to utilize Sharjah's modern exhibition and conference infrastructures.
The tour program included visits to points of interest such as Sharjah Aquarium, Heritage Area (Heritage Museum, Sharjah Calligraphy Museum, Bait Al Naboodah, Al Eslah School and Souq Al Arsah) Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, Al Mahatta Museum, Sharjah Archaeology Museum and a number of Sharjah's major shopping malls.
Commenting on the visit, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ali Al Noman, Director General of the SCTDA, stressed the importance of organizing such tourist tours to promote the emirate's tourist attractions: "We are keen to organize such tourist tours for official delegates and for representatives of travel and tourist agencies from all over the world throughout the year", he said.
"No doubt, organizing such tours for representatives of travel and tourist agencies, who organized the participations of the delegates in the last conference, will significantly contribute to supporting the emirate's leading position as a favorable tourist destination, and enable us to keep abreast with the latest trends and development in Convention-and-Exhibition-Tourism industry, thus responding to client's changing needs. It is a good opportunity for us to introduce the state of the art conference infrastructure and modern facilities. Organizing such tours is part of our commitment to continuously promote Sharjah's excellence in all types of tourism industry", Al Noman added.
The 7th UAE International Conference on Anaesthesia, Critical Care & Pain Medicine has been held alongside with The 9th Pan Arab Federation of Societies of Anesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Management Congress, the Campus of The University of Sharjah from 31st January till 2nd February 2009. The 3 day conference featured 45 lecturers from the UAE, the KSA, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Libya, Tunis, Algeria and Morocco in addition to 7 USA researchers and 18 speakers from the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Finland and Denmark in addition to a speaker from the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA).
