Dubai, UAE: Manpower Inc., a global leader in employment services, has been named in the Ethisphere Institute's 'World's Most Ethical Companies' list.   Ethisphere, a New York-based think-tank dedicated to the research and promotion of profitable best practices in global governance, business ethics, compliance and corporate responsibility, revealed the award at a recent Ethisphere and Forbes joint-conference, "Driving Profit through Ethical Leadership".

Manpower entered the Middle East market in December 2007 with its acquisition of Clarendon Parker Middle East, a well-established staffing solutions provider with nine offices in the GCC, and has since opened additional offices in Dubai and Qatar. Manpower intends to grow its operations rapidly in the Middle East while bringing the same leading standards in ethics and corporate governance to the region.

"A strong commitment to ethics and social responsibility is deeply embedded in Manpower's culture. It's an honor for the Manpower team to receive affirmation for the work they accomplish from such a prestigious source," said Manpower Inc. Chairman and CEO, Jeff Joerres. "Everyday we set out to do the right thing for the millions of people coming to us looking for a job. By providing them with solid benefits, safe working environments, honorable wages and access to quality workforce development programs, we believe we can affect the way work positively influences a person's life."

Researchers and analysts reviewed over 10,000 companies on six continents in a rigorous, multi-step evaluation process in order to determine the finalists.  The 2008 World's Most Ethical Companies methodology committee is comprised of leading attorneys, government officials, professors and others who care about ethical and honest business practices.

"Manpower Inc. is among the companies honored this year because they have developed impressive and meaningful ethical business practices, making them true standouts within their industry," said Alexander Brigham, Executive Director, Ethisphere Institute. "They go well beyond legal minimums, opting instead to bring about innovative ideas that contribute to the public well being. By their actions, they are forcing their competitors to follow suit, or fall behind and truly embodying the notion that ethical business practices are more profitable in the long run."
