· Prime Minister's Office receives high-level delegation and offers briefing on UAE initiatives on government performance
Dubai: The Prime Minister's Office received a high-level delegation from the Republic of Malta, which is on a three-day official visit to the UAE. The visit is the second by an official delegation from the Government of the Republic of Malta in the past few months, reflecting the keen interest of the Government of Malta in the UAE's leading experiences in the development of government performance.
During the visit, the delegation, headed by Principal Permanent Secretary and Secretary to Cabinet of the Republic of Malta, expressed keen interest to strengthen cooperation, exchange experiences and learn from the UAE's successful experiences in government innovation.
Welcoming the delegation, Her Excellency Ohood Al Roumi, Director-General of the Prime Minister's Office, said the UAE government has been able to record a number of successful experiences in the development of government performance which has helped the UAE to achieve high ranks in global competitiveness indicators in terms of government efficiency and confidence in the government. The UAE government is keen to share these experiences and learn more about the best practices in the area of government performance with all governments in the world, HE Al Roumi said.
The visiting delegation was offered a briefing on the UAE National Agenda and its various stages leading to the UAE Vision 2021. The briefing also covered other plans and initiatives of government entities in the UAE to achieve the national indicators in several vital areas. The delegation was also given an overview of the smart government strategy and smart applications available in the UAE.
The briefing introduced the delegation to the experiences of the UAE government in the development of government performance through the Federal Government Performance Management System "ADAA 2.0" as well as other initiatives to develop government services such as Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program and UAE Government Leaders Program.
The delegation also heard a review about Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Government Innovation's projects and initiatives, and its efforts to prepare Innovation CEOs in the government entities. In addition, the briefing shed light on the UAE Innovation Week, and a number of initiatives aimed to promote the UAE position in the field of innovation globally.
The visit, organised by the Prime Minister's Office, also included meetings with several government entities including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Environment and Water, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Energy, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Dubai Smart City Office, Dubai Museum of the Future Foundation, and Roads and Transport Authority Dubai.
