Dubai, UAE, April 25, 2010: Mall of the Emirates held its fourth Annual General Meeting last week and presented some of the top retailers in the region with its Annual Retailer Awards for 2009.
Harvey Nichols scooped two awards - one for "Retailer of the Year" and the other for "Best Anchor Store". Carrefour bagged the "Customer's Choice Award" while H&M Young was presented the award for "Best Flagship Store".
The awards were presented by Fuad Sharaf, Vice-President of Mall of the Emirates and Lizelle Fitoussi, Marketing Manager and the criteria included overall performance, operational compliance, sales and level of participation in the mall's ongoing marketing and promotional activities.
Fuad Sharaf added: "Mall of the Emirates has been growing in strength and popularity since it opened and last year we welcomed 30.8 million visitors - we even become a landmark for tourists which is a great achievement. I thank our retailers for their active involvement in making Mall of the Emirates one of the best shopping destinations in the UAE."
Awards in 14 different categories were presented and other winners included fashion store Bershka and Home Centre who were honoured with the 'Best Large Fashion Store' and 'Best Homeware Store' awards respectively.
While Carolina Herrera walked away with the 'Best Small Fashion Store' award, Paul Café was voted as the 'Best Food and Beverage Outlet'. The other big winners were- Axiom Telecom for 'Best Electronics and Entertainment Store', Louis Vuitton for 'Best Leather Goods and Gift Store', Bin Sina Pharmacy for 'Best Health & Well Being Store', The Athlete's Foot for 'Best Footwear and Sports Store', Frey Wille for 'Best Jewellery and Watches Store' and Pearle Opticians for 'Best Optical Accessories and Service Stores'.

Mall of the Emirates, the world's first shopping resort, is located in Dubai at interchange four on Sheikh Zayed Road.
