Amman-Jordan: Members of the Institute of Management Consultants and Trainers (IMC-Jordan) book club discussed the contents of the book "Made to Stick" by Chip and Dan Heath, at their monthly book club session. The book explains means and ways to help get ideas through and make them unforgettable. The book is a practical guide to effective communication, drawing extensively on psychosocial studies, memory, emotion and motivation.
The book club sessions come in line with IMC-Jordan constant efforts to provide its members with the latest practical know-how knowledge in terms of consultation and training through engaging them with different methods to help raise the performance standard to the best level possible.
During the session comparison was made between old legends and unrealistic stories that are still stuck in the minds of some people and the serious thoughts and ideas from some educated people like journalists, professors that have vanished and are forgotten. The authors have drawn a series of rules and principals which will make from ordinary ideas a model for motivation and will effect successful changes in lives, thus would in turn be acceptable and made to stick. These principals are listed as follows: simplicity, unexpectedness, concreteness, credibility, emotions and stories. These were successfully illustrated by a series of well-known stories that will never be forgotten.
