The non-profit organization announces a conference dedicated to focusing on education practices in Inclusive Computer Technology and Assistive Technology for the Gulf Region

DOHA, QATAR, 18  APRIL 2017

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Qatar Assistive Technology Center (MADA) announces the Gulf Region Education Assistive Technology Conference (GREAT), that will take place from April 23 to 26, 2017, at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in Doha. The Assistive Technology education conference organized by MADA is designed to provide attendees with the tools and knowledge they need to solve their toughest challenges in education and learn the latest in Inclusive Computer Technology. Part of GREAT 2017, education programs will feature globally recognized experts delivering Master Classes and Keynotes. MADA is committed to spreading awareness about PWD in Qatar and helping them stay connected in a world that is increasingly dependent on technology.

A first of its kind, the GREAT 2017 conference is dedicated to focusing on education practices in Inclusive Computer Technology and Assistive Technology (AT) in the Gulf Region. The conference, held in partnership with the Assistive Technology Industry Association, will feature renowned industry experts who will use this platform to educate and exchange information on best practices and current trends in the field of Inclusive Computer Technology and AT. The conference is structured in two phases, the first phase taking place on April 23 to 24, consists of the pre-conference stage, which includes intensive all-day master classes for participants pertaining to various AT topics. The second phase, taking place on April 25 to 26, will involve an opening ceremony, panel discussions and 60 – 90 minute educational workshops for participants.

At MADA, we want to educate more and more professionals on the importance of assistive technology for the lives of PWD in Qatar. This years’ event will look at best practices, implementation strategies, research and education in AT for schools.
