Logicom to announce new initiatives, unveil Office-Out-Of-Box solution bundle and showcase its wide portfolio of IT products and solutions this year

Leading regional IT distribution firm and premier Microsoft and Cisco authorized distributor Logicom is prepared and ready to field a strong presence at GITEX 2008. In its 7th consecutive participation in the major annual IT event, Logicom has occupied a spacious stand at D10-5 in the Sheikh Maktoum Hall this year. The firm plans to promote its wide, diverse portfolio comprising of leading IT brands such as Cisco, Microsoft, Linksys, Intel, Seagate, Maxtor, Kingston, Trend Micro, Intermec, Lenovo, IBM and Stonevoice at the show.

As part of its efforts to provide visitors with a clear understanding of various brands, Logicom Management and personnel will be meeting and interacting with customers, industry specialists and partners keen to learn more about the firm's activities and product portfolio. One exceptional bundle that will be shown at the stand this year will be Logicom's Office-Out-of-Box solution, a locally-designed, turnkey package that will include everything a start-up small and medium enterprise (SME) office would require in terms of IT solutions.

"With this package, we are looking at giving our resellers a ready solution for particular segments of the market," said Mr. Nicholas Argyrides, General Manager of Logicom Dubai. "One bundle will target an office of 10 to 25 users while the second one is aimed at 25 to 50 users. This will include networking products from Cisco and Linksys, Microsoft Office solutions, Lenovo laptops, IBM servers and Trend Micro security applications as well as an option to include IP telephony products. This is targeted at small and medium business enterprises that are making a fresh start and looking for a ready IT package to fulfill their requirements. Our aim is to support our customers with our knowledge and one-stop-shop capabilities."

Hemant Parmar, Regional Sales Manager at Logicom Dubai emphasized that GITEX is an imperative show for Logicom "Gitex provides us a chance to promote the latest technologies from our Vendor Partners and at the same time it acts as a platform to meet with our existing clients, as well as, new potential customers across the GCC and the Levant. From a marketing perspective, we strive to gain visibility as one of the leading distribution companies in the region. From a business perspective, we expect to find active leads which will help us enhance and better serve our customer base. Meeting up with our suppliers and talking to new potential vendors is another objective at the show," he added.

With an array of distinct products and services, Logicom has developed a large reseller clientele that covers different geographies, diverse cross-sections of the information technology community and various segments of the market, by offering a comprehensive portfolio of IT products and solutions. The company has consistently introduced global IT brands to the region and ensured their success through extending local expertise and an extensive distribution network of resellers.

Logicom has also actively been increasing its stocks in the region to keep up with the increasing demand for IT solutions in the market. As part of these efforts, the company is currently building a 9000sq.ms warehousing facility in Jebel Ali to replace its existing 1600 sq.ms storehouse. Likewise, Logicom Saudi Arabia is moving from an outsourced warehousing facility to its own in Riyadh. The company has already doubled its office space and ground resources in both Riyadh and Jeddah.

"This rapid expansion is essential for us as the Middle East is the fastest growing market for the Logicom Group with double digit growth, quarter on quarter, for all countries. This achievement is a result of our investments in the region in terms of setting up subsidiaries in the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, KSA, Jordan and Lebanon in the last six years or so. An essential part of maintaining our steady growth is to keep in touch with existing customers and also looking out for new opportunities. No platform is more appropriate to achieve this goal than GITEX," concluded Argyrides.
