Logica to provide payroll and time and attendance service on Oracle HCM Solution
Logica, a leading IT and business services company, today announced that it has been awarded a £multi-million five year payroll and time and attendance service contract by Ford, a leading provider of automotive products and services. This contract expands the services Logica provides for Ford in the UK, taking the 25 year business relationship between the two corporations into the next decade.
Logica will integrate and modernise Ford's payroll and time and attendance systems and provide a bureau payroll service for its 13,000 employees across 10 UK locations. This change management project and outsourced service supports Ford's drive to focus on its core automotive business, whilst also delivering a world class service to its employees and optimal management information to business leaders.
The payroll service will be implemented by Logica and delivered on the Oracle HCM platform, using Logica's secure hosting environment RTIS (Real-Time Infrastructure Services). The service employs a pay-as-you-go model removing the need to pay a traditional, upfront software licence fee.
The Oracle payroll solution will be integrated with the existing Peoplesoft HR application alongside other internal and external systems. A new time and attendance system from Logica partner Crown Computing will be implemented by a joint team and then managed by Logica.
The implementation will be phased with the service scheduled to go live in 2010. The benefits of the new system include:
• Cost savings and increased efficiency through more automation across the business
• Payroll staff focusing less on administration and more on value-added activities
• Reduced duplication of effort and less manual intervention
• Innovative on-demand infrastructure meeting Ford's stringent security requirements
• More accurate reporting aiding better employee information
Ford selected Logica because it offered the organisation the best solution to meet its needs, alongside, a strong appreciation of Ford solution delivery methods. The Logica offering incorporates the Oracle pay-as-you-go service and Crown time and attendance as a service.
Commenting on the contract win, Patricia Taylor, Director, HR and Payroll BPO Services, Logica, said: "We are delighted to work with Ford; this significant deal reinforces our position as a leading HR and payroll outsourced services provider in the UK. We are certainly seeing a real demand for Oracle pay-as-you-go services. Ford is a substantial customer for Logica and this relationship reflects a true evolving service partnership that will enhance both organisations over the next 5 years."
Daniel Van Den Broeck - Vice President HCM Sales, Western Europe, Oracle said: "The win at Ford is an exemplary example of Oracle and Logica working together to bring a value added business solution to a client in these difficult economic conditions. This demonstrates the value, strength and viability of the relationship and the proposition based on Logica's excellence in service, underpinned by Oracle's excellence in applications."
Logica's heritage with Ford spans over twenty years with its first consultancy project taking place in Turkey. During this time, Logica has worked with Ford on a global basis including in UK, Sweden, and Germany. This new service contract will extend the relationship to 2014.
