Digital leader introduces several innovative display technologies at Infocomm 2013

Dubai, UAE, October 21, 2013: LG Electronics is aiming to significantly increase its dominance of the digital signage market in the Middle East and Africa in 2013-2014 with the launch of some of the most revolutionary display technologies.

With a focus on higher brightness, best picture quality and energy-efficient displays, the digital leader is aggressively targeting various verticals in the region such as the government sector, airports, education, hospitality, retail, and quick service restaurants, to name a few.

"The Middle East signage industry is evolving rapidly, with new opportunities in various verticals where organizations continuously explore effective and innovative ways of delivering their message to a vast audience," explained David Kim, Director, MEA B2B at LG Electronics. "That's why we've focused on developing a compelling line-up of display solutions that not only move business owners' strategies to the next level, but also allow them to use digital signage in ways that were previously unachievable."

LG Electronics is confident that its new product line-up and innovation will further reinforce its leadership position in the digital signage market and believes that the increasing number of new venues and retail environments in the region will further propel its growth in the digital signage sector.

During InfoComm 2013 taking place in Dubai from October 20 to 24, the company will demonstrate its product line-up of commercial LED digital signage and display solutions, including 72-inch stunning outdoor displays with 2,000 nit brightness, Ultra HD video walls, and the world's first signage TV (Ez Sign TV) with Wi-Fi capability. This Infocomm, LG will also unveil the "Interactive White Board" (IWB) which will be displayed on an 84-inch Ultra High Definition display targeted for the corporate and education sectors.

Led by the industry's first 84-inch class "Ultra High-Definition" 4K digital signage display, LG is raising the bar for the digital signage industry - with a focus on higher-resolution, higher-brightness LED displays that allow businesses to use digital signage in new, exciting ways, while helping to transform the region's digital signage market. Boasting pixel resolution of 3840 x 2160, four times higher than Full HD displays, it offers the sharpest picture available on a large-screen display.

Recently, LG stunned the world when it unveiled the world's largest high-definition video wall, in Suntec City, Singapore. Combining 664 Full HD LED screens, the video wall (called "the Big Picture") boasts 84 times the resolution of Full HD, or 21 times of Ultra High Definition resolution, and stands at more than three storeys high and 60 meters wide.

All LG display solutions are equipped with the In Plane Switching (IPS) feature that helps ensure accurate colour saturation and contrast at wide-angle viewing (both horizontal and vertical), resulting in a display with great picture quality that can be installed at virtually any angle or height. LG's unique display technology also provides a temperature tolerance of up to 110 degrees Celsius, which helps alleviate a common problem of screens      overheating, affecting picture quality.

David Kim said, "We are currently increasing our focus on B2B business and collaborating with prominent third party signage software partners and IT infrastructure service providers to offer a complete solution to cater to the needs of our customers."

LG is committed to offer comprehensive technology solutions with the latest digital signage solutions which are sure to provide LG Electronics a leading edge in the signage industry.
