LG Air Conditioning Center offers the A/C industry in Syria unprecedented access to leading technologies and learning tools
Damascus, 26 October, 2009. LG Electronics & Ghriewati group, LG's agent in Syria and in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineering & Electrical College (MEEC) inaugurated today in a special ceremony Syria's first air conditioning training center at the College's premises in Damascus.
The Managing Director of LGE Levant subsidiary Mr. Cha, The President of Ghreiwati group Mr. Imad Ghreiwaty, the Dean of MEEC University Dr. Hashem Warakozak and Dr. Jamal Abbas, Branch Secretary of Al Baath Party in Damascus University in addition to the College's students and the Syrian media representatives attended the opening ceremony which was conducted under the patronage of Damascus University's President Dr. Waeal Mualla.
The training center was established through a partnership between LG, Ghreiwati group and the College to create a state of art technology venue where live trainings, demonstrations and researches will be undertaken to serve the local and regional air conditioning sector and its key players.
The 500 sqm2-center will be equipped with the latest and highest LG technologies and mainly the latest environmental friendly Multi v product. It will also allow for close collaboration with the students and academics of MEEC, which is recognized as one of the premier college of mechanical engineering learning in the country.
Mr. Cha, The Managing Director of LGE Levant subsidiary said: "as LG is a Global Leading Company we feel the strong responsibility towards social contribution in Syria to make an impact on enabling technological advancement in Syria".
Besides the Latest technologies, this Project will provide training courses for mechanical engineers and mechanical engineering companies allowing them to focus on the application of advanced technologies in the relevant sector. On the other hand, LG will provide self improvement opportunity for the top students in terms of performance through scholarship support, overseas trips to LG AC Factory in Korea, and recruit talented students in LG and LG's partner companies.

Mentioned that LG and Damascus University signed MOU during the event, then the top ten students in the MEEC were offered valuable gifts by LG as a cognition to their efforts exertion.
