Amman, Jordan- LG Electronics organized a workshop focusing on social media networking for its LG Media Club members on the 9th of May at the company's offices, aiming to swiftly update media reps with the latest trends and developments witnessed by this promising sector.

Bringing together journalists and media reps from different institutions in Jordan, the workshop was presented by Mr. Khaled Al Ahmad, an expert and trainer in the social networking field. The most important discussion topics included: Social Media Basics, Features & Benefits of Social Media Channels in Business Development, and Best Practices in Primary Social Channels (Facebook & Twitter), as well as some case studies for each social website covering both positive and negative aspects.

LG preferred to organize such a workshop due to its belief in the rapidly increasing importance of the technological revolution, and to its awareness that social media completes traditional media. Commenting on the workshop, Mr. Tae Hun Ryu, Managing Director of LG Electronics Levant, said, "Holding this workshop falls in line with our vision of making the latest introductions in digital technologies, and tying them with the latest in digital media tools in the world. We always look forward to the participation of the press and media reps in the most up-to-date progressions for the purpose of advanced improvements in this field."

The highly interactive wokshop saw interesting discussions spanning social networking channels in media and news transmission, and its effect on traditional media, where journalists and media reps confirmed that social networking websites play a fundamental role in completing conventional media, and that its content could offer prolific material and benefit for traditional media to use in its follow-ups and media stories.
