Dubai: Leading electrical products and systems manufacturer, Legrand, will present its new Mosaic decorative switches and sockets at INDEX Dubai 2004, which begins at the World Trade Centre on September 22. The extension of Legrand Gulf's best selling range of wiring accessories, Mosaic, which will be making its Middle East debut at the furniture and interiors show, is expected to reform and revise public acceptance of utilitarian electrical products with the colour versatility it offers. Legrand will be exhibiting at the French Pavilion - Stand No. 5C251.

The Mosaic range's modular system, using clip on cover plates, offers a degree of versatility not previously experienced as it gives the user the flexibility of changing the functions and colour of their wiring accessories whenever they change the dcor, said Mohammed Ahmed-Yahia, Area Manager, Legrand. With its new finishes the Mosaic range now consists of nine different plate colours and two mechanism colours.

"By launching the Mosaic range at INDEX 2004 we hope to first reach interior designers and persuade them of the flexibility this choice will afford them, before introducing homeowners to the many advantages of the range," he said. He added that Legrand devotes a significant part of its annual sales revenue to research and development to ensure that the company's reputation as an innovative developer of electrical products is conclusively maintained.

As a result of its efforts, Legrand today is the world leading provider of switches and sockets with 18 per cent market share worldwide. Legrand is presently the only company manufacturing electrical products of all standards, including British, German, French, and American.

Legrand's participation at INDEX 2004 is part of the company's impressive marketing plan aimed at developing the tremendous potential for its products in the region, primarily in the building and industrial sectors.

In March this year, the company embarked on a GCC-wide roadshow aimed at familiarizing contractors and electrical products retailers with the broad range of Legrand products and providing them hands-on training.

Since the establishment of its local base in Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone in 1996, the Legrand brand has become a familiar presence in the market. Last year (2003) Legrand achieved a 44 per cent growth in the UAE. Its products have been used in projects around the country, including Dubai Internet City, Knowledge Village, the Emaar headquarters, Meridien Suites, Marriott Furnished Apartments, the Sofitel and Novotel hotels in Dubai, Abu Dhabi Mall, certain housing projects undertaken by the Abu Dhabi Public Works Department, and numerous other projects undertaken for municipalities and government bodies.

The Legrand office in Jebel Ali today oversees the company's operations in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman. In addition to this, the establishment of Legrand Customer Centres in the emirates and other parts of the GCC makes the company strategically placed to capitalize on the projected regional demand for electrical products and systems.
