The Institute for Women's Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW) at the Lebanese American University (LAU) Held the "Mary Turner Lane Award" ceremony for the year 2013.

The ceremony that took place in Beirut Campus in the presence of Dr. Joseph G. Jabbra, President of the Lebanese American University witnessed the awards' distribution to the winners, Anna kokko for the best undergraduate research paper and Mona Kazzaz for the best graduate research paper.

Dr. Joseph G. Jabbra welcomed everyone to this important gathering that allows us to thank and remember a woman who decided to establish an award on behalf of her mother who left a remarkable work in everything she did for women. Jabbra highlighted on the importance of the women's institute itself and the importance of research, especially research related to gender and women studies. "I am absolutely delighted, on behalf of the entire university, to congratulate the winners and to recognize their excellence", he ended.

Winners then received their awards and thanked LAU and the Professors for everything they did for them.
