10th Anniversary edition will feature latest trends and developments and host of international product launches

Key industrial data to be revealed during Automechanika Academy

The tenth and largest-ever edition of Automechanika Middle East will take place next week at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The largest and most representative regional gathering of the automotive aftermarket will be 24% larger than last year and organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt expects the show to create a considerable impact in its 10th anniversary year.

Automechanika Middle East has grown to be a truly representative trade exhibition. It attracts international manufacturers keen on making further inroads into the region, leading industry experts adding their insights into the latest trends and developments in the field and a region-wide audience of trade buyers.

Today, Automechanika Middle East enjoys global recognition. The trade exhibition is held under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports, President of Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline & Group. It also enjoys the support of Dubai Taxi Corporation, part of RTA.

"Automechanika Middle East has benefited immensely from the support of H.H Sheikh Ahmed, key government departments and the regional automotive industry over the past ten years," said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt. "Today the show has grown to be much more than a purely trade exhibition as it plays a significant role in introducing business best practices and latest industry trends into the regional market. Growing concern for the environment marks the increasing trend towards eco-friendly solutions and products. This element is reflected quite strongly in this edition of the show," he added.

The release of key industry figures throwing light on the current trends of the regional automotive aftermarket will be one of the main attractions at the Automechanika Academy, taking place alongside the trade exhibition. Eco-friendly trends will also feature quite prominently in the Academy - a two-day series of seminars led by a panel of leading international and regional industry experts. Senior officials from Dubai World, Autodata, Dubai Taxi Corporation, Emirates Gas, Schaeffler Middle East FZE, RTA, ENOC, Zafco, Al Dobowi Group, Emrald Tyres, Meyer-Reumann & Partners and Brand Protection Group will all take part in the Academy which regularly attracts a widely representative audience from the region.

Ms. Naseem Saeed Al Muhairi from the Department of Statistics, Dubai Customs will begin the first day of the Academy by revealing the latest industry statistics. Other key topics include: the Impact of Vehicle Devaluation; Green Solutions for Fleet Management, by Eng. Yousif Mohammed Al Ali, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation; CNG as an Alternate Automotive Fuel; the Technologies of Electronic Mobility; the benefits and processes associated with the Online Registration Renewal; and finally, Recycling and Workshops.

The second day will feature topics including: Fleet Tyre Efficiency; Green Tyres: Protecting the Environment; Tyre Management Solutions; Trends in Global Natural Rubber Situation; Anti-Counterfeit Approach by UAE and Dubai authorities; Counterfeit Automotive Spare Parts - Challenges, Risks and Consequences; and finally, Mileage Fraud. The Academy is expected to generate a wide discussion on the major trends and innovations affecting the automotive aftermarket in the region.

Automechanika Middle East has traditionally been a platform for the regional launches of a number of products and services over the years. This year's edition will also see a number of debuting products from international exhibitors including: the Middle East launch of Bodyshop Revolution - designed to achieve better efficiencies in the body repair industry; the regional launch of Aktas Newtone's Air Spring; the entry into the market by Fildex Filters from Canada; BG Middle East's new products for repair workshops; and Autokontrol's debut into the region with their speed limiters for school buses and mini buses which have recently received approval from UAE authorities.

Expected to feature over 1,300 exhibitors from 55 plus countries, the tenth edition of Automechanika Middle East is the leading trade exhibition for parts, equipments and services for cars, trucks and buses. The show is classified into 5 product sections for the benefit of exhibitors and trade visitors, namely: Parts & Systems, Repair & Maintenance, Tyres & Batteries, Service Station & Car Wash and Accessories & Tuning.
