Total investment in Jassim Fakhro Fund program reached USD1.15 million
KPMG in Bahrain announced today key progress in the firm’s flagship human development initiatives, Jassim Fakhro Fund and KPMG’s internship program.
Since the inception of the fund in 2001, 97 Bahraini employees have completed their professional qualifications, with financial and mentoring support at a total cost of USD1.15 million (BD 435,000), covered entirely by KPMG in Bahrain.
KPMG’s Managing Partner Jamal Fakhro commented on this progress, and said “Our people are our greatest asset. We recognize that the success of our business depends on how we nurture our individual’s talent, so providing the right resources and environment to enable our people to flourish personally and professionally, is very important to us. I am delighted to see many Bahraini employees are utilizing the valuable opportunities we provide to accelerate their professional growth during their career with KPMG and beyond.”
The fund was developed to honor Jassim Fakhro, the co-founder of KPMG in Bahrain, and to support the professional development of talented young Bahrainis. It provides local staff with access to financial support along with time and mentoring from more experience colleagues to help them pursue and complete any professional qualification of their choice.
Mansoor Al Alwan, Deputy Manager at KPMG in Bahrain and a Jassim Fakhro Fund beneficiary, shared his views on the fund program and said “I am honored to work for KPMG. During my career with the firm, I have obtained a couple of professional certificates that helped me to progress in my career. I believe this would have not been possible without the generous support of the fund that goes beyond covering financial expenses.”
“KPMG always provides a new perspective to make our objectives attainable. The support provided to achieve these objectives broadens our experience and expands our skills. I am grateful for my career at the firm and I encourage my colleagues to benefit from the development opportunities available to them.” Manal Ebrahim, Deputy Manager and Jassim Fakhro Fund beneficiary also added.
So far this year, KPMG in Bahrain has also welcomed 46 Bahraini students from leading universities inside and outside of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The firm’s on-going student internship program provides learning opportunities for university students to help them gain valuable work experience and prepare them for successful careers.
KPMG in Bahrain is a member firm of KPMG international.
